I’ve had fibromyalgia since I was 15 years old. If you do not know what it is, it a chronic illness who causes severe chronic pain, chronic fatigue, stomach problems – as most fibromyalgia patients suffer from IBS as well – mobility issues, difficulty in concentrating and among the other different symptoms, tactile allodynia, which means you feel severe pain when someone touches you, or when a rough material touches your skin. Living with fibromyalgia is isolating and a constant battle. Stepping aside from its severe and many symptoms, it is a highly contested illness, which means that despite causing debilitating symptoms in an increasing number of patients, it is still not believed by some part of the medical community.
