I live in an extremely conservative rural environment in the deep US south where being any kind of gay, trans, nonbinary, genderfluid, or gender nonconforming is just asking for the neanderthals to run you out of town. But I’m fortunate to have married a wonderful lady who accepts this side of me even if she doesn’t understand it or particularly like it. So I am able to give in to the urge and dress however I want to at home, so long as I put on my “normal” disguise for going out and about. For some of us, that’s the best we can hope for.
