I honestly don’t recall about what anymore, but it was irrational, and nothing was going to happen at my level or multiple levels above me that would make this person happy. So, with customers like that I always fell into strict 100% compliance with the rules mode, which was a way of keeping me from getting fired because even if the outcome was as I suspected it would be, I could simply point to the rules and say I followed the rules as they were laid out.
