A much higher proportion of Native Americans for a start, & all their descendants would qualify as real Americans – & a considerably higher black proportion. If you drop the requirement for male line colonial ancestry, then Obama qualifies as an American of colonial descent through his mother. Odd that you don’t count her, but only his father, who had almost no role in his upbringing. But of course, she wasn’t black – & that’s really what this is about, isn’t it? I don’t agree with all of Obama’s policies — but the assumption that he’s disqualified because his father was from Africa and he was partly raised overseas is fed by pure racism.
