But as I said, the cost of energy is expensive and the labor of a daughter-in-law isn’t; it is just another form of conservation. Time are changing slowly, especially in more educated families where the daughter-in-law is university educated and may even be a professional. But for the average Korean bride, things are not all the rosy if their mother-in-law is a taskmaster and “old school”.
