He looked around and noticed much cheaper stuff than my recommendations. He came back with these prices. Everything he found cheaper would be strained by what he wanted and he’d have a slow, clumsy and probably often failing solution for the sake of saving £1,000 or so. He decided against all my recommendations and bought the cheapest stuff. Sure enough a month later I received word he’d complained I’d mis-sold. Fortunately I’d kept what I’d written as recommendation and got witnesses. He didn’t get his money back. We lost a customer but frankly whoever got him probably found him just as big a pain in the arse and we didn’t want him.
