There are lots of possible alternative systems, but only a small percentage of the population seem to want any of them. *And a number of non European systems such as the Canadian one are probably very good. I have no experience of these though. i would much rather not have my survival depend on my income, to not have to pay more than I can afford for an insurance plan that is there to make money, not to support you in your time of need, with greedy vultures patting themselves on the back if they manage to find a reason NOT to pay out, even if that loophole is essentially a death sentence.
