Until today, it has been 600 years since the establishment of relations between Poland [Kingdom of Lehistan] and Turkey [Ottoman Empire]. The expedition of two envoys by King Wladyslaw Jegiello to Sultan Mehmet I in 1414 can be considered as the beginning of diplomatic ties. Until the 19th century, more than 50 envoys were sent to Turkey from Poland. Some envoys came to Turkey to fulfil interesting tasks too. For instance, in 1565, an envoy came to Istanbul to buy famous velvet fabrics of Bursa for the King of Poland.
