When an aviation squadron deploys to a ship, typically the whole squadron won’t deploy. Even if all the aircraft in the squadron go, the squadron will leave people behind. When the squadron is not deployed on a ship, the sailors and officers assigned have similar choices to the Ships Company as to where they will ‘sleep’. Just like ships, squadrons will have duty sections. Duty sections won’t sleep in the hangar though. Just like ships, squadron E-4 and up will get paid to live out town. E-3 and below can get paid to live out in town if they have dependas. Those sailors and officer not living out in town, will have rooms in the barracks, aka the BEQ or BOQ.
