I asked the guy in charge of walk-in sales how much it sold for, so he had me put it on the scale to weigh it, and he said $3 a pound, so I paid something like $9 for this little bar of something, and put it in my car, before returning to look for more stuff. When I got home, I did a specific gravity test on it, which is real easy if you have the equipment. I weighed it dry, then tied a thread on it and weighed it submerged in water hanging from my scale, and then divided the dry weight by the difference between the dry and submerged weights to get its density of 17.9 grams per cubic centimeter.
