So I relented. Next morning he called me to tell me that my transmission definitely needed to be rebuilt and this was going to cost me “only” $1500. I flipped out and drove the rental car to AAMCO. My car was still on the lift and my transmission was in several hundred pieces spread out on two tables about 12 long. Again, this was designed to put me in a weak position psychologically.
