For reference the normal level range for a 17 year old female is 12–15. The day before my hemoglobin was 6 so not only was it low, it was dropping. Long story short I found out that my moms side of the family has a history of anemia and other mineral level issues like magnesium and whatnot and I have to take a couple vitamins to help my body increase the amount my body absorbs.
