When I was dating my now Korean wife, I did get the stink eye from people and had a few drunken older men follow us shouting obscenities. We were careful where we walked. I’ve had African-American friends who were older professors treated very nastily by apartment guards for dating Korean women, and it used to be standard advice among expats here not to let a Korean girlfriend go on in a taxi alone, as the driver would be sure to give her a chewing-out about being a prostitute for foreigners.
